Health

Bilateral and multilateral donors recognise that investing in simple, cost-effective, community focused primary health care helps lay the foundation for skilled and productive societies. Health care systems that address both prevention and treatment are important for improving health standards and alleviating poverty. Additionally, donors provide support in areas that underpin effective public health systems, including national health policy development and planning, disease surveillance systems, and pharmaceutical supply and regulation.

Hassall and Associates International recognises the importance of both good healthcare planning, surveillance and regulation, and the importance of primary health provision in assisting those in most need, particularly women and children. For more than a decade, Hassall & Associates International has implemented numerous projects throughout Asia and the Pacific region encouraging a participatory and community ownership approach in key areas of child and maternal mortality and morbidity, family planning and reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS prevention and care activities.

Hassall & Associates International recognises that quality health care results from the collaboration of government, private institutions, and the community sector. Our approach to health development is to foster inter-sectoral and multidisciplinary collaboration to overcome barriers to health, strengthen those factors that foster good health, and overcome health inequities. Our health sector work commonly acts on changing the determinants of health while concurrently modernising health systems. We understand the importance of integrating relevant local and international health programs and activities into our projects.
