Governance

Accountable and transparent administration, management and decision making processes are the basis of good governance and have been recognised as a significantly limiting factor in poverty reduction and economic growth.  Establishing good governance within government and other organisations offers the best opportunity to sustaining poverty reduction and economic growth, and is inherent in the design and implementation of all of our activities.

Our projects, programs, and facilities aim to establish and demonstrate the practices of good governance not only with partner government institutions but with all stakeholders including civil society, non-government and community based organisations, and the private sector.

Experience has demonstrated that an effective partnership approach is essential to capacity building and institutional strengthening with government institutions, private agencies and community organisations at all levels throughout Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Pacific. This has facilitated improvements in financial and administration systems and procedures and improved corporate business and strategic planning practices.
