Education
Access to education is generally recognised as a basic human right. In an open and equitable society access to education provides information, develops skills, improves and develops knowledge, and promotes opportunities for social empowerment. Education can encourage confidence in individuals to take greater ownership of decisions in the process of economic development. Donors, non government organisations and partner governments recognise the importance of better quality, cost effective, and community focused education services in poverty alleviation and broad based growth. This also addresses one of the key Millennium Development Goals. Hassall & Associates International values and promotes investment in education systems that build human capital in developing countries. Access to information and skills development offers people the opportunity to improve their productivity and participation in society. Our projects have included provision of basic education; strategic planning at a national and local level; education system strengthening and capacity building; curriculum development; monitoring and evaluation of education systems; and vocational education and training reform.
