Indonesia-Australia Specialised Training Project (IASTP) Phase III

Description

HAI, supported by AusAID, is working with Indonesia’s State Secretariat (Sekretariat Negara – Setneg) to improve national human resource development priorities by providing specialised short-term training and capacity building initiatives through the IASTP Phase III.
The IASTP Phase III Project is upgrading the knowledge and skills of mid-career, middle level professionals in the public, non-government and private sectors in the specific areas of: economic management; other governance; and the delivery of basic services.

Special attention is given to gender inclusive practices. IASTP Phase III targets beneficiaries in East Java, South and Southeast Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Papua, Maluku and North Maluku.

Responsibilities

The overall goal of IASTP Phase III is to contribute to promotion of good governance through improved economic management; strengthening the institutions and practices of democracy; enhancing security and stability; and increasing the accessibility of basic social services. Key components include:

• Economic management – develop technical knowledge, skills and change-management capacity of selected participants involved in the promotions and management of economic growth and employment.

• Other Governance – upgrade technical knowledge skills participants who have responsibility for designing and delivering government services.

• Delivery of Basic Services – upgrade technical knowledge, skills and change management capacity of participants responsible for delivering basic services at Provincial and District level to communities in targeted disadvantage areas.

• Capacity Building Training – strengthen the capacity of participating Indonesian agencies to design and deliver appropriate short courses training for their staff.

HAI also undertakes significant levels of monitoring and evaluation and continuous improvement activities to deliver high quality training programs to Government of Indonesia agencies and participants.
