Maria Paz Limpo Area Manager for the Responsive Assistance Scheme (RAS) Philippines-Australia Community Assistance Program (PACAP)

 

Maria is an exceptional leader who has an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of the poor communities of the Philippines. Her dedication extends beyond the normal requirements of her role within the Response Awareness Scheme.

Maria began work with HAI in 1998, and her role as Area Manager takes her into difficult areas with  extreme poverty and poor governance, areas which even the most seasoned development consultants would not venture into.  Within this environment, Maria has been successfully developing networks, linking projects across sectors, government departments and civil societies which increased an understanding of both each other and their respective communities.

In the last year Maria initiated nine development projects within this area, - an exceptional achievement, considering this is greater than the number of all PACAP projects in the region in the last 20 years.
