Our PeopleIan ForemanSenior Consultant – Environmental Services, Dubbo
Ian has 12 years GIS and remote sensing experience for corporate and family based agribusiness systems. Major clients have included the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Department of Land & Water Conservation, Department of Agriculture, Catchment Management and Landcare based groups throughout NSW. Ian has worked both at the property level with whole farm management planning, and at a regional level in the development of catchment management plans for community and Landcare groups. These projects have involved the use of various forms of satellite imagery, complex polygon data and the conversion of data layers into Arcview 3x format. Ian has a proven track record of involving the expertise from a wide range of sources external to the community GIS group including BRS, DLWC, NSW Ag, NPWS, MDBC, Landcare groups and private landholders. As a result he has developed an extensive network of technical experts that he can utilise for the analysis of difficult data sets. Ian's greatest strength is his ability to both analyse large, complex data sets and present derived maps in clear layouts so that the information is presented in a form that is understandable by the layperson. His latest project for Watershed Landcare involved the analysis of 35 datasets covering an area of almost 700,000ha. A map based on National Vegetation Information System (NVIS) data is presented in a clear layout with extended legend information to explain the technical terms used.
